We hope you had great a Labor Day weekend because we definitely did! We hosted our 6th Annual Holiday Back to School Shoe Drive on Monday and it was an incredible success!

We received just over 200 requests for help with shoes from our community this year. Initially, we were concerned that we would not be able to fill every request. We even reached out to the last half of our families and told them we didn’t think we would be able to help them this year.

Thankfully, we sent a last-minute plea out to our community and were able to raise the most money we have ever raised for our shoe drive! That final fundraising push put us in a place where we were able to reach back out to our families to let them know that we had them covered. This was amazing for our families and us!

The fun then began as we got to do plenty of shopping to fill all the orders. Our volunteers gathered at Reese’s House early morning on Labor Day to prep for the event in the afternoon. After hours of sorting, organizing, and bagging, we opened our doors to our community to pick up their orders. By the end of the event, we’re not sure who had bigger smiles, our families or our volunteers!

As you can see, our event was a huge success and we are incredibly happy to be able to continue serving our community. We would like to thank our families for trusting us to help and our donors and volunteers for the support that make this work possible. We are truly blessed and look forward to continuing to serve and being the change in our area!
